We're looking for a franchise partner in Tiruvannamalai — someone from here, who already knows this place better than any outsider ever could. You know what the town looks like on a full moon night, when lakhs of people quietly walk fourteen kilometres around the hill? That's the kind of crowd a dessert shop anywhere else would dream about, yet most of what's waiting for them is a rose-milk stall or a tea counter. We want to put a proper dessert outlet — waffles, shakes, brownies, hot chocolate, all under one roof — right in the middle of that crowd.
Think about who actually comes to Tiruvannamalai. Families doing darshan at the Raja Gopuram in the evening. Pilgrims finishing Girivalam at two in the morning, tired and hungry. Elderly couples who've done this walk every month for twenty years. None of them come here looking for a non-vegetarian meal — this is a town built around vegetarian food, and that happens to be exactly what we are: every item at Tasty Nation is 100% vegetarian. A dessert isn't a once-a-year treat for the people who walk this hill — it's the reward they already look for afterwards, the thing a family buys the kids before getting back on the bus. The town just hasn't had a proper place to buy it yet.
You already know these crowds by sight. There's the Girivalam crowd on Car Street and Theradi, footsore and looking for something cold. There's the Ramana Ashram crowd on Chengam Road — foreigners, long-stay visitors, Bangalore and Chennai families who come for a few quiet days and end up eating out most evenings. There are students from Arunai Engineering College and SKP Engineering College on the Vellore-road side, who have nowhere particular to go after class except a tea stall. And there's everyone passing through the new bus stand at Mathalangulam — villagers in for the day, students heading home, pilgrims catching a bus right after Girivalam. Different crowds, same question: where's the good dessert place in this town?
We checked, search by search. Dessert shops: around 10 listings in town, ratings mostly between 4.1 and 4.9, review counts from the single digits up to past 200. Ice cream parlours: ratings between 4.0 and 5.0, review counts from 9 to over 150. Waffle counters: only a handful, rated well but still small, mostly single- to double-digit reviews with one place nearing a hundred. Cake shops and bakeries: about 10 listings, ratings between 4.1 and 4.9, several past the 100-review mark. Then we searched for a milkshake shop and a boba tea place — and found neither. Those searches surfaced tea stalls, filter-coffee counters and juice corners instead, not one dedicated milkshake or bubble-tea specialist. The appetite for something sweet and cold is obviously already there. Nobody's built the one-stop dessert shop — waffles, shakes, brownies, hot chocolate, together under one roof — to catch it yet.
Tiruvannamalai doesn't run on one high street — it runs on four or five pockets that each pull their own crowd, all day and late into the night on full-moon dates. Here's where we'd start looking.
Tiruvannamalai doesn't have an organised mall with a food court, so this isn't a food-court counter — it's a standalone outlet, the same format we run at Kay Food Street in Chennai: your own shop front, your own seating, open through the evening and late on Girivalam nights when the streets are still full of people at midnight. You pick a spot in one of the areas below, or tell us about a spot you already have in mind.
Once you reach out on WhatsApp, we start with a discovery call about the city and your plans, then a site evaluation once you've found a spot. Every recipe and process is documented and taught hands-on at our Chennai outlets before you open — training takes just two days, and that's enough even if you've never worked behind a food counter before. After that we stay involved: ingredient sourcing, marketing materials, and support that doesn't stop once the shop opens. And because almost nothing goes to waste in how a Tasty Nation outlet runs, you're not fighting the food-waste problem that eats into most small food businesses.
No. Training takes just two days at our Chennai outlets, and it's built for people with no previous food, kitchen or business experience.
Tiruvannamalai isn't only a festival town — darshan, the ashram crowd, students and daily bus traffic bring people through every day; full-moon nights and Karthigai Deepam are the extra peaks on top of that.
Yes — every item at Tasty Nation is 100% vegetarian, which fits a temple town's food habits without any changes needed.
Car Street and Theradi near the temple, Chengam Road near Ramana Ashram, Polur Road, and the area near the new bus stand are where we'd look first — tell us on the call if you already have a spot in mind.
Not in Tiruvannamalai — there's no organised mall food court in town, so this would be a standalone outlet, not a food-court counter.
That's discussed on the discovery call after you reach out — we don't put investment or area figures on this page.
