Tasty Nation desserts

Every evening in Hosur, the SIPCOT shift horn blows and thousands of two-wheelers and company buses pour out onto Bagalur Road and Denkanikottai Road — and most of those riders go straight home, because there still isn't one proper dessert place built for that crowd. We're looking for a franchise partner who knows this town well enough to fix that. Hosur already spends on cake, ice-cream and tea every single day; it just hasn't had a place that does every dessert well, under one roof.

Hosur earns well, but spends its dessert evenings elsewhere

You know the sound — the SIPCOT shift horn, then Bagalur Road and Denkanikottai Road flooding with two-wheelers and company buses all at once. Hosur has real, steady spending power: Ashok Leyland, TVS, Titan, Tata Electronics, Caterpillar and Ather Energy all run plants here, so there's a salaried crowd moving through town every single day, not just on weekends. But ask anyone where they go for a proper dessert evening with the family, and a lot of them will say Electronic City or Koramangala, across the Attibele check-post, simply because Hosur itself hasn't had that one place yet. The town already proves it loves something sweet — cake counters and ice-cream parlours are everywhere, several of them busy every evening. The appetite is clearly there. What's missing is the one spot that does waffles, thickshakes, sundaes and hot chocolate together, not just a cake box on the way out the door.

Who's actually out on the street

Think about who's really around at 6 pm in Hosur. There's the SIPCOT crowd clocking off shift and wanting something cold before the ride home. There are the roughly three thousand students at Adhiyamaan College of Engineering on the Krishnagiri road (NH-7), plus others around the Denkanikottai Road colleges, free after classes with few places to just sit and talk. There are families who'd rather stay back in Hosur on a Sunday evening than fight the drive into Bangalore. And there's the steady stream of people crossing at Attibele every day for work in Electronic City, who'd happily stop for a treat on the Hosur side, coming or going. Every one of these groups already buys dessert somewhere in town — they just don't have one place doing all of it well.

What the dessert map here already tells us

We checked what's already on Google Maps in Hosur. Cake and bakery counters are the biggest category by far — more than a dozen active shops, several sitting on 500 to over 1,700 reviews each, rated anywhere between 4.0 and 4.9 stars. Ice-cream counters are just as busy: mostly 4.3 to 4.9 stars, with one counter alone past 4,000 reviews. A few small waffle cafes exist too, each doing just waffles. But search for milkshakes or boba tea, and most results turn out to be general tea and chai stalls — only a couple of real bubble-tea counters show up. Put together: Hosur eats a lot of cake and a lot of ice-cream, but nobody here is running the full dessert menu — waffles, thickshakes, sundaes, brownies, hot chocolate, protein shakes — in one place. That's the gap.

Where this would actually work

A few stretches of Hosur already carry the evening crowd on their own. Here's where we'd start looking.

  • Bagalur Road (standalone outlet): Evening shoppers, families and the organised-retail crowd — Hosur's busiest stretch for shops and food after 6 pm. Already the town's heaviest footfall corridor for cake, ice-cream and bakery counters — proven evening demand
  • SIPCOT / Avalapalli-Hudco belt (standalone outlet): Factory and company-bus staff from Ashok Leyland, TVS, Titan and other SIPCOT plants, right at shift-change time. Thousands clock off here every single evening, seven days a week — a steady salaried crowd wanting something quick and cold
  • NH-7 (Krishnagiri Road) / Perandapalli college stretch (standalone outlet): Students from Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, free after classes with few places to just sit and talk. Around three thousand engineering students alone on this stretch, with few proper hangout spots nearby
  • Shanthi Nagar, near the railway station and main bus terminus (standalone outlet): Commuters, students waiting for buses, and the Shanthi Nagar bakery-and-cafe crowd already out walking in the evening. Sits right by the town's main bus terminus and railway station, catching both locals and people passing through

Counter or outlet — which fits Hosur

Hosur doesn't really have a mall in the Chennai or Coimbatore sense yet — the closest thing is an organised supermarket stretch on Bagalur Road. That makes a standalone outlet, run the way our Kay Food Street store runs, the more natural fit here: your own space, your own counter, open through the evening rush. If a proper mall or large food court comes up on Bagalur Road or near SIPCOT later on, a food-court counter is the other format we run elsewhere, and we'd look at that too. Which one actually suits your site is exactly what the discovery call and site evaluation are for.

Who we're looking for in Hosur

  • Someone who actually knows Hosur — which street empties out by 7 pm and which one is still packed at 10.
  • Someone who can be at the counter every single day, not running it from a distance.
  • Someone who likes talking to people — shift workers, students, families — and remembers the regulars.
  • Access to, or a clear plan for, a site on Bagalur Road, Denkanikottai Road, the SIPCOT belt or near the colleges.
  • Someone willing to follow our recipes and standards exactly, every single day. No food, kitchen or business experience needed — we teach all of it.

What you get from us

You don't need to have run a shop before. Training takes just two days, hands-on at our Chennai outlets, and after that anyone can run the counter. We hand over every recipe and process, help with ingredient sourcing, give you marketing materials, and stay with you through setup and the opening week. And because it's dessert — something people treat themselves to on an ordinary Tuesday, not just a birthday — run from a kitchen that works with almost no food waste, it's a business built to run clean, every day, even in a factory town like Hosur.

Questions about a franchise in Hosur

Bangalore is just 40 minutes away — why would someone open here instead of there?

Because Hosur already has its own daily crowd — SIPCOT salaries, college students and families who don't want to cross the Attibele check-post for a dessert run. You're not competing with Bangalore rents, and the town already shows it spends on cake and ice-cream every day.

I don't have any food business background — can I still do this?

Yes. Training takes just two days, hands-on at our Chennai outlets, and no previous food, kitchen or business experience is needed to run the counter afterward.

Should I look for a spot on Bagalur Road or near SIPCOT?

Both are worth looking at, along with the college stretch and the area near the bus terminus. Which one fits best depends on your site — that's exactly what the discovery call and site evaluation are for.

Hosur already has a lot of cake shops and ice-cream parlours — is there room for one more?

Those shops prove people here buy dessert daily. What the town doesn't have is one place doing waffles, thickshakes, sundaes, brownies and hot chocolate together — that's the space this fills.

What does the setup process actually look like?

You enquire, we get on a discovery call, then do a site evaluation on your proposed location, followed by setup and two days of hands-on training before opening.

Who we are

We are Tasty Nation, a 100% vegetarian dessert brand from Chennai. Belgian waffles, thickshakes, sundaes, boba shakes, pancakes, brownies and hot chocolate: 85+ items on one menu. We opened at Kay Food Street, Pallikaranai in December 2023, and today we also run a food-court counter at Vivira Mall on OMR. Same recipes, two very different formats, so we can tell you honestly what each one is like to run. Tasty Nation® is a registered trademark (Licence No. 6368235). Why a dessert outlet, and why you can do it

  • People love sweet desserts. A waffle or a thickshake is an everyday treat for every age in Hosur, not something saved for a festival.
  • Almost no waste. Food waste is one of the biggest problems in the food business. A Tasty Nation outlet has almost none.
  • Just 2 days of training. You, or anyone you hire, can start working after two days with us. No previous food, kitchen or business experience needed.
