Tasty Nation desserts

We are looking for a franchise partner right here in Nagercoil. This is a town where the Nagaraja Temple bell is still the evening clock for half the families in town, where buses from Kanyakumari and Kerala pour into Vadasery every hour, and where thousands of Scott Christian, Holy Cross and Hindu College students walk past the same tea kadais every single day. None of them need a special occasion to want something sweet and cold — kids, students, grandparents, it's an everyday pull for every age — yet nobody in town has put waffles, thickshakes, sundaes and boba under one roof.

A temple town, a college town, and the gate to Kanyakumari — all at once

You know the Nagaraja Temple bell at dusk — half of Nagercoil times its evening walk by it. Families finish their prayers, cross over to Court Road, and look for something to do before heading home. Down at Vadasery, buses roll in all day from Kanyakumari, Thuckalay, even Trivandrum, dropping off people who've just seen Suchindram's musical pillars or walked the long verandahs of Padmanabhapuram Palace and are hungry for something cool before the next leg of the trip. And every weekday afternoon, Scott Christian, Holy Cross and Hindu College let out, and WCC Road fills with students in no hurry to go home. Three different crowds, one town, and all of them want the same simple thing on a hot Kanniyakumari-district afternoon: something sweet and cold. That's the part nobody in Nagercoil has built properly yet — a place that does every kind of dessert well, not just one.

Who actually walks through the door

Think about who you'd actually see. Students from Scott Christian and Holy Cross, done with the day's classes, deciding between a tea kadai and something better on WCC Road or near Chettikulam junction. Families who've just left the Nagaraja Temple or are doing their evening shopping on Court Road and Meenakshipuram, looking for a stop before the drive home. Travellers waiting out a long gap at the Vadasery Omni Bus Stand, or a family that drove down from Trivandrum for the weekend and is stretching their legs at Rajas Mall before the ride back. And the steady local crowd that already queues for ice cream and cake in this town — you only have to see how busy the old ice cream shop near Tower Junction gets on a Sunday to know Nagercoil doesn't need convincing to spend on dessert.

The appetite is already here — the full menu isn't

We checked. Nagercoil's ice cream counters pull serious numbers — one shop near Tower Junction that's been running since 1947 has close to 300 Google reviews, and a national ice cream chain outlet on WCC Road has pulled in over 1,400. Cake shops do even bigger business: one bakery on Kottar-Parvathipuram Road has close to 2,000 reviews, and newer home-bakery brands are racking up hundreds more with near-perfect ratings. That's a town that already says yes to dessert. But look for a proper waffle counter and you'll find only one or two small shops — nothing that puts waffles, thickshakes, sundaes and boba together under one roof with real seating to sit and talk. Look for bubble tea and you'll find a single small shop with under twenty reviews. And here's the other side of it: in a business where food waste is one of the biggest headaches, a Tasty Nation outlet runs with almost none of it — which matters a lot in a town this size.

Where this could actually stand

You already know these streets. Here's where a Tasty Nation counter would fit into the day Nagercoil already has — not fight against it.

  • Vadasery (Omni Bus Stand & Court Road market) (standalone outlet): bus travellers passing through all day, plus the evening Court Road shopping crowd. highest footfall junction in town, and the one everyone already passes on their way somewhere else
  • Chettikulam Junction / PWD Road (standalone outlet): young crowd — tea shops, juice bars and night food carts already pull a steady evening crowd here. this stretch is already the town's go-to hangout strip after dark
  • Rajas Mall / Vetturnimadam (near the Clock Tower) (mall food-court counter): mall shoppers and families spending a couple of hours browsing before heading home. shoppers already budget time for a food-court stop here
  • WCC Road / Kottar-Parvathipuram Road (college stretch) (standalone outlet): Scott Christian, Holy Cross and Hindu College students right after class. students already linger here daily for tea and snacks between classes

Standalone shop or mall counter — both work here

Nagercoil gives you two real options, same as everywhere else we operate. Near Vadasery or Kottar, a standalone outlet works the way our Pallikaranai shop does — open all evening, walk-in crowd, its own seating for students and families to sit and talk. Inside Rajas Mall or SP Mall, a compact counter works the way our Vivira Mall counter does — smaller footprint, for shoppers who are already there for a couple of hours and want a dessert stop between stores. Which one makes sense depends on what site you can get in Nagercoil, and that's exactly what the discovery call and site visit are for.

Who we're looking for in Nagercoil

  • You know this town — the junctions, the crowd at Court Road on a Saturday evening, which college lets out when.
  • You can be at the counter yourself, every day, not just drop in once a week.
  • You like talking to people — regulars, students, a family asking what's good today.
  • You already have a site in mind near Vadasery, Rajas Mall, SP Mall or the college roads — or you're ready to go look for one with us.
  • You'll follow the recipes and the standards exactly as taught, every single time.
  • No food, kitchen or business background needed.

What we hand you before you open

You don't walk into this alone. We teach you every recipe and every process ourselves, hands-on, at our own Chennai outlets, before you open here. Training takes two days — after that, you or anyone you put behind the counter can run it, no previous food or business experience required. Once you're open, we stay involved: help with ingredient sourcing, marketing materials for your Nagercoil launch, and the same support our own outlets run on. The process is simple — you message us, we get on a call, we come look at the site together, and then we set it up and train your team before opening day.

Questions about a franchise in Nagercoil

Does Tasty Nation already have an outlet in Nagercoil?

No. We run two outlets in Chennai today, and Nagercoil is one of the towns we're looking to open in with the right local partner.

Standalone shop or mall counter — which should I go for in Nagercoil?

Both formats work here. We'll look at the specific site you have — or help you think through one near Vadasery, Rajas Mall, SP Mall or the college roads — during the discovery call and site visit.

I've never run a food business. Can I still do this?

Yes. Training takes two days at our Chennai outlets, and anyone can run the counter after that — no previous food, kitchen or business experience needed.

Will the Kanyakumari tourist crowd actually matter for a Nagercoil outlet?

Nagercoil is the main junction travellers pass through on the way to and from Kanyakumari, Suchindram and Padmanabhapuram Palace, so a well-placed outlet near Vadasery or the bus stand sees that traffic alongside the local crowd.

How do I start?

Message us on WhatsApp through this page. We'll set up a discovery call, then a site visit, then training — before you open.

Who we are

We are Tasty Nation, a 100% vegetarian dessert brand from Chennai. Belgian waffles, thickshakes, sundaes, boba shakes, pancakes, brownies and hot chocolate: 85+ items on one menu. We opened at Kay Food Street, Pallikaranai in December 2023, and today we also run a food-court counter at Vivira Mall on OMR. Same recipes, two very different formats, so we can tell you honestly what each one is like to run. Tasty Nation® is a registered trademark (Licence No. 6368235). Why a dessert outlet, and why you can do it

  • People love sweet desserts. A waffle or a thickshake is an everyday treat for every age in Nagercoil, not something saved for a festival.
  • Almost no waste. Food waste is one of the biggest problems in the food business. A Tasty Nation outlet has almost none.
  • Just 2 days of training. You, or anyone you hire, can start working after two days with us. No previous food, kitchen or business experience needed.
