Tasty Nation desserts

We are looking for a franchise partner in Vaniyambadi — a town that sends leather and money out every single day, but still sends its own families up the Yelagiri ghat road on a Sunday just to sit somewhere nice over a cold drink. That gap, between what this town earns and where it can spend an evening on something sweet, is exactly where we want to open next.

A town that earns well but has nowhere to sit over a dessert

Vaniyambadi runs on leather. Walk down Khaderpet or CL Road in the evening and you can smell it — tanneries, finishing units, export offices, all of it moving fast because the orders go to Chennai and then out of the country. People here are not short of money. A tannery owner, a supervisor, an export office accountant, a shop owner on CN Annadurai Road — these are people who can afford to treat their family well, and they already do: biryani on a Sunday, a drive up to Yelagiri when the heat gets too much, sweets from the old shops near the bus stand for a festival or a guest. What the town does not have is a clean, comfortable, sit-down place built just for dessert — somewhere you walk in after a day at the tannery or after exam results and just enjoy something cold without rushing. That is the gap we think Vaniyambadi is ready for.

And it fits us well for one more reason: everything on our menu is 100% vegetarian, which matters in a town where Hindu, Muslim and Christian families all eat together at weddings and festivals and need a place that works for everyone at the table.

Who actually walks past a shop here every day

Think about who is actually moving through Vaniyambadi on any given evening. There are the young crowds from Islamiah College and Priyadarshini Engineering College, done with class and looking for somewhere to sit before heading home. There are families and bike-riders using the Chennai–Bangalore highway that cuts right through town, stopping for tea on the bypass before or after a trip up to Yelagiri. There are the bus stand and railway station crowds on CN Annadurai Road and Khaderpet, waiting between buses or trains with nothing to do but stand around a tea stall. And there are the tannery and export-house families themselves, who are used to spending on good food and are simply waiting for a nicer place to spend it in. None of these people are short of reasons to want a dessert — they are short of a proper place to have one.

What the dessert map of Vaniyambadi already tells us

We ran the numbers before writing this page. Across six separate searches for dessert shops, ice cream parlours, waffle counters, milkshake spots, boba tea shops and cake shops in Vaniyambadi, we found roughly two dozen places doing some part of this business — falooda corners, ice cream parlours, old-style sweet shops, a few bakeries, roadside juice stalls — most of them rated well, several with hundreds of reviews and one well past a thousand. That tells you the appetite for something sweet or cold is real and well-fed in a scattered way. What those same searches did not turn up was a single dedicated bubble-tea or boba shop, or a waffle-and-thickshake counter built the way a city dessert brand would build one — AC seating, a full menu of waffles, shakes, sundaes and brownies under one roof, open every single day of the week. That specific gap, between many small sweet stops and one proper dessert destination, is what a Tasty Nation outlet would fill.

Where in town this could actually work

A few stretches of Vaniyambadi already pull the kind of crowd a dessert outlet needs. Here is where we would start looking.

  • Khaderpet and CL Road (bus stand belt) (standalone outlet): evening shoppers, bus stand crowds and the old sweet-shop regulars, busiest after 6pm. the most-reviewed bakery and sweet names in town are clustered right here, proof this stretch already draws a dessert-minded crowd
  • CN Annadurai Road, near the bus stand and railway station (standalone outlet): bus and train passengers with time to kill, tea-stall regulars. constant footfall from people waiting between buses and trains, right next to the tea and snack shops that already do steady business here
  • NH48 highway bypass (Perumalpet stretch) (standalone outlet): families and bike riders travelling between Chennai and Bangalore, and locals heading up to or back from Yelagiri. roadside tea stops on this exact stretch carry hundreds of reviews each, showing how much passing traffic stops here for a break
  • Around Islamiah College and Priyadarshini Engineering College (standalone outlet): college students straight after class, in groups, looking for somewhere to sit before heading home. young, regular, nearby crowd with free time every single afternoon

Vaniyambadi suits a standalone outlet, not a mall counter

We run two kinds of Tasty Nation outlets: a standalone shop with its own seating, run like our Pallikaranai outlet in Chennai, and a compact counter inside a mall food court, like our Vivira Mall counter on OMR. Vaniyambadi does not have a large mall yet, so the fit here is clearly the standalone format — a shop on a busy stretch like Khaderpet, the bus stand road, or the highway bypass, with enough seating that a family or a group of students can sit, talk and share a few desserts rather than grab one and leave.

Who we're looking for in Vaniyambadi

  • Someone who actually knows Vaniyambadi — which stretch of Khaderpet or CL Road gets crowded at what hour, and why
  • Someone who can be at the shop every single day, not just checking in once a week
  • Someone who genuinely likes talking to people — students, tannery families, travellers stopping off the highway
  • Someone who already has, or can find, a site in one of the areas above, or is willing to work with us to find one
  • Someone willing to follow our recipes and standards exactly as taught, every single day

You do not need any experience in food, restaurants or running a business. None of that is required.

What you get from us, step by step

Once you reach out, we get on a discovery call to talk through Vaniyambadi and your site options, then our team does a site evaluation before anything is finalised. If it's a fit, you get every one of our recipes and our full process, taught hands-on at our Chennai outlets over two days — enough for anyone to start working the counter confidently, no previous food or kitchen experience needed. After that we stay involved: help with ingredient sourcing, marketing materials, and ongoing support as the shop settles in. And food waste — one of the hardest problems anywhere in food — is almost not a problem for a Tasty Nation outlet. You won't be fighting it the way most restaurants do.

Questions about a franchise in Vaniyambadi

Is there a Tasty Nation outlet in Vaniyambadi already?

No. We currently run two outlets in Chennai and are now looking for our first franchise partner in Vaniyambadi.

Does Vaniyambadi really have enough demand for a dessert brand?

Our own research found around two dozen sweet, ice cream and bakery businesses already operating across the town with strong ratings and review counts, but no dedicated waffle, thickshake or boba tea destination — the demand for something sweet is clearly there, just scattered.

I have never run a food business. Can I still apply?

Yes. Training takes just two days at our Chennai outlets, and you do not need any previous food, kitchen or business experience to start.

Should I look for a shop near the bus stand, the highway, or the colleges?

Any of those could work — what matters most is daily footfall and your own ability to be there every day. We evaluate the exact site together with you on a call.

Will my outlet be a mall counter or a full shop?

Vaniyambadi does not have a large mall yet, so this would be our standalone outlet format — its own space and seating, run the way our Pallikaranai outlet is run.

Who we are

We are Tasty Nation, a 100% vegetarian dessert brand from Chennai. Belgian waffles, thickshakes, sundaes, boba shakes, pancakes, brownies and hot chocolate: 85+ items on one menu. We opened at Kay Food Street, Pallikaranai in December 2023, and today we also run a food-court counter at Vivira Mall on OMR. Same recipes, two very different formats, so we can tell you honestly what each one is like to run. Tasty Nation® is a registered trademark (Licence No. 6368235). More about our franchise programme · see the menu.

Why a dessert outlet, and why you can do it

  • People love sweet desserts. A waffle or a thickshake is an everyday treat for every age in Vaniyambadi, not something saved for a festival.
  • Almost no waste. Food waste is one of the biggest problems in the food business. A Tasty Nation outlet has almost none.
  • Just 2 days of training. You, or anyone you hire, can start working after two days with us. No previous food, kitchen or business experience needed.
